Going on holiday!

Tomorrow morning, the kids and I will be on the road heading for Tacoma, WA. It's kind of becoming a tradition to spend a month or so up there each spring. We've been looking forward to this for quite a while, as Brooklyn will tell you. . . constantly. :)

So, hopefully I'll have lots of lovely things to blog about soon! And to all my WA buddies. . . I can't wait to see you all!

So anyway, here it is.



It's not very surprising what's in there. Most females on this planet probably have about the same stuff. What's cool is that I don't fill mine half as full as it could be, thereby leaving room for situational stuff. Like my camera. Or bottles of water. Or snacks for the movie theater. Or voodoo dolls of annoying, blonde, female politicians. Or my 9mm. You know, important stuff.

So, there you have it. :)

My Happy Valentine's Day!

My day started out at 6am with Steve giving me a good morning kiss and a "Happy Valentine's Day", before he left for work. I was only half awake at the time, but I still smiled and thought how sweet that was. Steve then called me around lunchtime to say Happy Valentine's Day again, and to tell me he loved me. Awww! :)

The kids and I decided to make him some chocolate chip cookies, since those are his favorite. We even hid a little love note under the cookies, so that when he finishes them all, he can see it.





Then to top it all off, Steve brought dinner home from our all-time favorite Mexican restaurant, Castillos. Not having to make dinner? Now that's love!! :)

New Family Pictures

We finally had a chance to get some family pictures taken. I usually try to get these done before Christmas so that I can put them in our Christmas newsletter, but this time, we didn't get them done until January. And then, after we got the prints, we noticed a small problem, so we ended up having to do them again. In the end, they turned out pretty good. Take a look!

More Summer (2007) Lovin'!

I can't believe that time has passed by so fast. Here it is almost summer again, and I haven't even finished writing about last summer. So without further ado, here's some more of the story.

Every other year we have a big Walton Family Reunion, usually the first full weekend in August, and taking place more often than not somewhere in Alberta, Canada. This last years reunion took place in Black Diamond, which is just south of Calgary. The kids and I drove up there with Auntie Kara and her boys. We had decided that trying to sleep in tents with three little ones wasn't exactly what we wanted to do and so had rented a RV, which was already conveniently set up by the time we got there. Over the 3 days we were there we had lots of fun playing in the river that ran through our campground. We also spent an afternoon swimming in the community pool, and playing at the playground.



And it wouldn't be a reunion without a rousing game of HOCKEY! Unfortunately, it's a bit harder to play "Americans" versus "Canadians" since the Canadians now seriously outnumber us Americans. :)



One special outing we take while in Canada is to visit our super special (Great) Gramma Mason. She's been living in a nursing home since the spring of 2004 and we knew there may not be many more chances to see her, so this visit was especially important. I'm even more grateful now that I had that chance to give her one last hug and kiss as she passed away on October 1, just a few weeks shy of her 92nd birthday. We will certainly miss her.



After the reunion we planned on spending a few days in Kalispell, Montana with Dean and Stephanie and kids. Brooklyn was very excited for this as cousin America is her very best friend. On the way to Montana we took the opportunity to stop in Cardston to see the LDS temple, and in Aetna to see our old house. The temple is still as beautiful as I remember, and the house is still as brown. :)





After driving through lots of smoke (from the forest fires) we finally made it to their house. The next day we had an exciting time driving around town and seeing all the sights. We also took a short hike up into the mountains where we could see all of Kalispell. It was very cool!



And to top it all off, we had fun soaking in the hot tub and hanging out on the trampoline watching for shooting stars. And really, what more could you ask for during a vacation?! :)
