Noah's first loose tooth

I had forgotten that Noah was at the age to start losing teeth, but when he started freaking out yesterday, yelling that he had broke his tooth, I quickly reassured him that it was perfectly normal, and that he would be fine.

Promises of money from the tooth fairy when it finally fell out made him feel lots better. So be expecting some cute toothless smiles with in the next few days. :-)

UPDATE: Noah's tooth fell out Sunday morning before church so here's a quick picture of his new smile! Soo cute! :)

Strawberry freezer jam is my favorite!

So, I finally buckled down and made my very own strawberry freezer jam today! Wow, that was a long time coming, and now that it's done, I just want to put it on everything! :)

I'm glad it was super easy to make.



Really, the hardest part was washing and cutting all those strawberries. Then I just pureed them in the blender, strained that through cheesecloth (which isn't in the directions, I just did it cause I don't like a lot of seeds), mixed it with the sugar and pectin, and poured it into the jars. Voila! Presto! Done.


(This isn't all of them, just the last batch.)


Here's my little helper. He only ate about 10 strawberries before I had to cut him off. :)

I know. I'm a total slacker when it comes to updating this blog. Seriously, how hard is it to post once in a while? Apparently, way too hard for me. ;-)

So, since I've recently upped my daily use of technology (BlackBerry much? :), I thought I'd give mobile blogging a go, just to see if it really is easy.

Happiest of New Years to you all!

It's always the last place you look . . .

So, this morning when I was doing laundry, I went to put the liquid detergent in and I couldn't find the measuring cup I use. Weird, but no big deal. I had another one, so I measured the amount and threw the cup in. Then earlier this evening, as I was folding a previous batch from the dryer, I felt something in one of Brooklyn's pant pockets.


Wow.

I wonder what else I might find in there. :)

It was a wonderful dream. . .

Last night I had the most "refreshing" dream. I dreamt I was drinking my absolute favorite soda, Peach Fresca.


It's been a whole year since I've really drank soda. Like really, really drank. Like multiple cans a day, drank. Now most of you are thinking, What's the big deal about that?

I LOVE PEACH FRESCA!! It's sparkling, peachy, grapefruity goodness just makes me all giddy, like a teenager with her first real crush.

And I haven't had any in over 365 DAYS!!

And I'll continue to not have any. And this is why.

* Carbonated water
* Citric acid
* Concentrated Grapefruit juice
* Potassium citrate
* Potassium benzoate and EDTA (preservatives)
* Aspartame
* Acesulfame potassium
* Acacia
* Natural flavors
* Glycerol ester of wood rosin
* Brominated vegetable oil
* Carob bean gum

The only thing that can even be said that's "good" for you is the Grapefruit juice. The rest? Yeah, NOT so much.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm a pretty consistent label reader, and I do try to stay away from foods that aren't really "food", and I do pretty often eat things that aren't really good for me, but soda? There's absolutely no redeeming quality to the stuff. And so, I don't drink it.

But I'll go right ahead and DREAM about it. :)

Yep, gravity works.

Just in case any of you were wondering if *gravity had reversed itself*, I have just proven that it hasn't.

Whilst browsing the merchandise at the local Wal-Mart, I heard a gentleman exclaim. . .

"Hey Dude, them squirrels is good eatin'."

I patiently waited for the laughter to follow, and was quite dismayed to not hear it.

But at least now I know what to eat when food prices get too high to afford. :)
